Showcasing the Future of Security at ISC West

Technology driving the future of the security industry was front and center at this year’s ISC West, the largest physical security conference in the United States. There were many award-winning innovations exhibited on the conference floor including Cobalt Access, our new door integration product that allows the Cobalt Robot to open and then pass through a secured door without human assistance — a first for the industry.

Robotics and autonomous security solutions were popular topics amongst the over 30,000 conference attendees and the continued interest in these areas has made it clear that security practitioners are ready to adopt more innovative approaches to keeping spaces safe and secure. Security robots—like the ones we build at Cobalt Robotics—emerged at ISC West as a key tool for organizations to enhance security capabilities and drove many visitors to our booth. While there, conference goers experienced the Cobalt Robot on patrol and our human-in-the-loop technology, which brought our security robots as a service (and the benefits security robots can unlock) to life.

Looking ahead at the future of security, autonomous security solutions are becoming a key component of security operations at organizations large and small. At the conference, our CEO Travis Deyle shared a roadmap of how autonomous security solutions will roll out in the coming years and key areas that security practitioners should think about as they plan for incorporating these technologies into their business operations including:

  • Identifying specific use cases for the organization
  • Mapping out technical requirements
  • Building a rollout management plan
  • Establishing success metrics

At ISC West, it was clear that how we think about keeping spaces safe and secure is evolving and technology is playing a pivotal role in transforming physical security. This is an exciting time for the industry.
